read up briefly about the Tao Te Ching and the Analects. Who wrote these? When did they originate? What is the basic content of each book e.g. advice, laws, stories, etc.?
Next, read your assigned sections in each book
(Tao Te Ching: First half of the 2nd book & Analects (confucianism) is from chapter 9 to 12.) and then post two intriguing quotes, one from the Tao Te Ching and one from the Analects. In posting each quote from each book, please say why you selected this special quote. For instance, is the quote confusing, inspiring, challenging, or familiar? Or is it a combination of things for you? Is there any connection between your two quotes even though they are from two different sacred texts?
Thinking back to the Zoroaster video https://youtu.be/nxhWkfLDFyc, post a brief reflection on what, if any, big similarities or differences you see in Prophet Zoroaster’s life when compared to the stories of other books we have looked at in this class so far e.g. the Bhagavad Gita and the Torah or other books that you might be familiar with such as the Qur’an. Also, how does the video relate to anything that you read in the Zend Avesta?
