Write an argumentative close-reading essay in which the writer elaborates on the presence of sexism feature in Antigone written by Sophocles. More specifically, can it be that Antigone’s excessive and suicidal actions which harm Thebes are made in protest of the sexist nature of Thebes’ society? And, does it seem like Sophocles is suggesting that a woman can be just as (or more) capable of logic and reason as a man, and therefore be just as fit to rule?
